Education

I graduated from R.H. Watkins High School in 1987 and enrolled at Jones Count Junior College in the Fall. I later transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi where I earned my B.S. in History. I later went on to receive my M. Ed. at William Carey College.

Work

I began teaching at Jones Jr. High (which I attended for my 7th and 8th grade years) and was later transferred to teach at the high school I graduated from – R.H. Watkins High School. In 1999, I began to pursue the things that sparked an interest in me, and I moved to the place that I have always loved -Baton Rouge, LA.Home of the LSU Tygers!!! I taught in LA for 7 years (mostly at Denham Springs High School) and then began working in the summer of 2005 for a faith-based organization as an assistant in the administrative office. In the fall of that year, I accepted the position of Project Coordinator for a prisoner re-entry grant, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Labor. This is the same initiative that President Bush talked about in his 2005 State of the Union address. Since the fall of 2005, we have served over 525 ex-offenders assisting them with their employment, housing, substance abuse, and mental health issues. This is one of the most challenging things I have ever done but at the same time the most rewarding.

Personal

I love the simple things in life. On a cold day, give me a warm fire, my lazy boy, and a good book and I’m good. I’m not much on “bells and whistles”. I enjoy the outdoors and anything or anyone that makes me laugh. God, family, and friends (in that order) are at the center of my heart. I love to teach, especially anything that involves leadership. I currently serve at Healing Place Church teaching leadership, as well as serve at our Baton Rouge Dream Center campus in the inner city of Baton Rouge.

Family

My family consist of both my parents, an older brother, a younger sister, two nieces (Emily and Rachel), and one nephew (Connor) all reside in Laurel, MS. I don’t get to see them as much as I like, but every chance I get I make the short trip back to MS.

    Hey Mr. Bradford,

It’s Frank, how are you doing? My friend had this website on his status in facebook and I was like….WHAT are you talking about William Bradford from Denham Springs High School!? So I guess I was right!

William, I am not sure if you will remember me. We met many years ago…I was a senior in high school, so that would have been 1989-1990. You have often crossed my mind and I’ve often wondered what you were doing. I’m going to add you to my blog list! It was good to “see” you and see what you are doing!
